With maintenance costs rising and budgets shrinking, the Site Services Team has struggled in the last few years to meet the maintenance requirements of an aging radar infrastructure.
JMA analyzed the processes and procedures of the Site Services Team and helped the Team reconceive a new way of doing business.
The results were nothing short of astounding! When comparing the costs from the previous two years to the cost of the team’s 2016 activities, a 38% efficiency improvement was realized. This improvement resulted in a net savings of $947,113. The Team accomplished 60% more major repairs, reduced minor maintenance activities by 40%, and reduced minor maintenance costs by 70%. For the first time in a decade, the Site Services Team accomplished the required inspections at all 42 scheduled radar facilities. The Team ultimately accomplished many more taskings than previous years for significantly less funding.
