April 2022, Washington, DC – JMA Solutions is pleased to announce that Mayor Muriel Bowser has named its Founder and CEO, Jan Adams, as a co-chair of the “DC Build Back Better Infrastructure Task Force.” This initiative was established with the support of President Biden’s $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which was passed last November. Washington, DC will receive $3 billion in funding over a five-year span and enable the task force to create and manage equitable and sustainable projects that strengthen the city’s architecture.
In addition to District agencies and external partners, the DC Build Back Better Task Force includes key individuals who have invaluable expertise from the following groups: The Environment and Resilience Subcommittee, the Transportation Innovation Subcommittee, the Workforce Capacity Building Subcommittee, and the Administration, Compliance, and Procurement Subcommittee. JMA Solutions’ CEO will join fellow Co-chair and Former U.S. Transportation Secretary, Rodney Slater, who served under former President Bill Clinton’s administration to manage key projects and improve the Nation’s blueprint.
“I am excited to join alongside Rodney Slater, and fellow committee members, in guiding the task force to continue the work of Mayor Bowser and her administration to strengthen our great city,” said Founder and CEO, Jan Adams. “As a District resident for over 20 years, I am proud to further my commitment and expand my support to enhance the transformation of our nation’s capital and communities at large.”
The task force will oversee major projects, including examining the city’s roads and bridges, removing the lead out of pipes, and renovating and expanding Union Station. By taking an in-depth look at the city’s core needs, the DC Build Back Better Task Force will maximize funding and build better communities for current and future DC residents. Through this newfound partnership, Ms. Adams, business leaders, and representatives of the Mayor’s Office will be taking critical steps toward improving economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities and ensuring systems and resources are available across the city.
